For the 2021 Men’s and Women’s US Open, the USGA partnered with Deloitte to develop an app that golf fans could use to follow the event using augmented reality technology. The app allowed users to “place” 3D models of the tournament courses onto a real-world surface using AR technology, and then watch the event in real-time while comparing players, tracking leaderboard stats and yardages, touring virtual clubhouses, and watching simulated replays of past tournament competitors.
I created this flagship image that was used throughout a print and digital campaign that Deloitte ran to drive consumers to download the app. To the right are examples of how the image was used in Golf Journal Magazine, on Deloitte’s website, and on Twitter and LinkedIn sponsored ads.
Deloitte is widely known for only using circular imagery throughout their brand, with very strict stipulations for what visual features those circles can and cannot incorporate. This image adheres to those standards, while combining 3D-rendered objects, vector artwork, and UI/UX elements from the app to visually encapsulate the entire premise of the app experience.
Watch the video below that my agency, PartnersCreative, produced that outlines the entire app experience.
