This can design was created as a piece of spec work for the Bent Nail IPA produced by Red Lodge Ales Brewing Company, a brewery based in south-central Montana. This can retains many elements of the current Bent Nail IPA design, such as the recognizable Red Lodge Ales wordmark, the “Good Times, Good Beer” tagline, and the use of a dark green color palette.

However, I felt my updated can design should capitalize on Red Lodge Ales’ most distinguishing selling point – its location in the heart of the iconic Beartooth Mountain range. This particular can features Pilot Peak and Index Peak, but with the Beartooth’s seemingly innumerable number of picturesque landmarks, similar illustrations could be used for Red Lodge Ales’ entire selection of beverages to create a cohesive, authentic look and feel for the brand as a whole.
